Are you a CARER?
Someone who looks after a partner, relative, friend or disabled child who needs support because of their sickness, age or disability?
Because being a carer is demanding, you need to be aware of all the services which are available to enable you to continue to carry out your important work.

The government’s helpful website www.direct.gov.uk/carers provides information on support services, financial matters (benefits) and social service assessments as well as useful links.
Independent information is available from ‘Carers UK’ at www.carersuk.org
Princess Royal Trust for Carers www.carers.org Crossroads provides practical help to give carers a break - see www.crossroads.org.uk or contact them locally on 01706 525361
Contact a Family provides advice, information and support to the parents of all disabled children through their website www.cafamily.org.uk and local representatives.

Finally, please let your GP know that you are a Carer so that we can make a note of it in your medical records.
